Awesome headbands

Here are the headbands I made this weekend--both were new designs so I wasn't sure how the crown would turn out. The other design is my favorite and will definitely be added to the shop once I can buy more pink glue sticks.

Sparkly crown headbands

I'm currently working on a custom order headband project, the increasingly popular crown headband.

I have a few different color combos going but I have a few more steps to go before they're finished. Here is what I have so far.

They still need the base which will also be super sparkly =)

Outlander Cosplay!! Claire's wedding dress

Outlander Cosplay!! OMG I made Claire's wedding dress from Outlander!!
(This one isn't that clear, but I like how you can see the skirt ^_^)

This past weekend was C2E2--Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo--2015.

I've spent the past few months obsessed with the books & TV show Outlander. Back in November I decided to make her wedding dress after much thought. In case you haven't seen it...

It's a big project, I'd never done anything like it before but I was determined. I choose to use Simplicity Costume 4092 Pattern.
It was originally meant as an Elizabeth Swan, Pirates of the Caribbean costume but I re-purposed it. =)

Here it is!!!

I wish I could have found a fabric more like the real dress, but I'm pretty proud of the final product.

Valentine Day's Nail Art!

I decided to come up with something fun and varied for my V-day week nails.

I got all sorts of fancy. It was also my first time using caviar beads =) I really wanted them to stay on all week, so I added a couple layers of my favorite base coat (which also makes a great top coat), Gelous. I love adding the little stars to my index finger, but I hate how abrupt it feels, so I make sure to add 2-3 top coat layers to help the star blend into the nail more. And finally, on my thumb I used glitter. I didn't want glitter mixing into my top coat bottle by way of the brush, so I decided to let nail polish drop off the brush onto the glitter (rather than brush it on). I just kind added a couple drops, then moved the finger around until the glitter was covered. Once the bulk of the glitter was covered, I added the top coat onto the rest of the nail like normal. Once the first layer dried then I was able to go in and add a second layer of top coat, just to make sure I didn't miss any spots.

Fun nails

I've recently started doing nail art for fun, just on myself. I found a cute fish design on Pintrest and decided to try it.

Here are the Pinterest nails:
My work ^_^

All the fish were hand drawn, so those I did with my dominate hand look better. I was initially gonna make the star a star fish but then didn't.
The thumb was initially going to be just a fish bowl but the nail polish got smudge--I added the gold fish to cover it & it became my favorite nail.
